FunShine Express supports your child’s future while keeping learning enjoyable along the way! The FunShine Express Curriculum is a professionally designed early learning program for ages 0-5. Children learn best by interacting with their environment, and FunShine activities are thoughtfully designed with that approach in mind.
What Will My Child Learn?
Lesson plans follow themes, with two new themes introduced each month. Each day, your child’s teacher selects activities that encourage growth, development, and school readiness. These activities support eight developmental domains: Language/Literacy Social/Emotional Math Approaches to Learning Science Physical Development/Health Social Studies Creative Arts, across classrooms throughout each learning day.
What Is Developmentally Appropriate Practice?
Developmentally Appropriate Practice means activities and programs consider what children are ready to do according to their individual development. Children ages 3–5 should receive many opportunities to interact with, discover, explore, and understand their environment each day independently.
What Are the Benefits of Developmentally Appropriate Practice?
Practices that respect each child’s developmental readiness can strengthen self-confidence and independent thinking. Children gain opportunities for personal expression and decision-making practice. This environment supports skills and discipline, encourages creativity, builds flexibility, and provides healthy emotional release. The curriculum remains open-ended and flexible.
